Joshua James Webb is a Perth-based musical director, arranger, pianist, and educator whose work spans theatre, orchestral collaborations, choral leadership, cabaret, and community-focused music-making. Recognised as one of Perth’s most dynamic and versatile musical directors, Joshua is known for his thoughtful musicianship, collaborative leadership style, and ability to draw expressive, detailed performances from ensembles of all kinds.

 

Joshua’s professional theatre credits include major productions such as Wicked, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Lion King, along with Chicago with Drew Anthony Creative - a production for which he shared the PAWA Award for Outstanding Musical Direction or Conducting. Since the inception of Zealous Productions, he has served as Musical Director and Arranger for their annual pantomimes at The Regal Theatre, helping define the company’s distinctive musical identity over five consecutive seasons.

 

As a performer, Joshua appears frequently with Perth Symphony Orchestra, most recently as a featured pianist for cinematic concerts of Top Gun: Maverick and The Nightmare Before Christmas. His piano work also extends to cabaret and festival stages, including multiple appearances at Fringe festivals and as an official pianist for the Australian Musical Theatre Festival in Launceston, Tasmania.

 

Joshua works extensively in the choral space as a director, accompanist, and arranger for a wide range of community, school, and professional ensembles. In 2025, he founded the Perth Gay Men’s Chorus, where he serves as Artistic Director, contributing to Perth’s growing landscape of inclusive vocal groups.

 

Alongside his freelance career, Joshua teaches at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where he regularly musical directs, coaches, and accompanies productions and performance programs across the Music Theatre department.
